Celebrating International Women’s Day
Daya Trust is delighted to invite Wellingtontians to our annual celebration of International Women’s Day 2015:
Thursday 5 March 2015, 5pm-7pm
Join us for an evening of celebration, communication and collaboration as we support the empowerment of women and girls both here in New Zealand and around the globe.
Educating women and girls and subsequently giving them opportunities to become economically empowered are increasingly viewed as the most important contributing factors to achieving equality between women and men. Both access to education and economically strengthening women – who are half the world’s workforce – are not only a means by which to spur economic growth, but also a matter of advancing women’s human rights. When governments, businesses and communities invest in women, entire nations benefit.
“The education and empowerment of women throughout the world cannot fail to result in a more caring, tolerant, just and peaceful life for all.” – Aung San Suu Kyi
We’re delighted to have noted community worker and businesswoman, Ranjna Patel, as our speaker. Ranjna will be sharing some of her own journey as a third generation, highly successful NZ Indian businesswoman who was recently appointed to the Co. of Women Hall of Fame.
Drinks and nibbles will be served during the event.
